What’s the difference between using PoE vs. PoE+? Can I use PoE with a Gen3 Pod?
PoE provides up to 15.4 W of power to devices, while PoE+ provides up to 25.5 W of power. The Pod will display a black screen if it draws more power than what is provided by PoE (> 15.4 W). Because of this, Mersive highly recommends using PoE+ or the Mersive power supply to power the Pod. Mersive power supplies will need to be ordered as they do not ship with the Gen3 Pod by default.
Can I use other after market power supplies with my Gen3 Pod?
No, only Mersive power supplies should be used with any Solstice Pod. The use of an after market power supply may damage the unit and void the warranty. Mersive power supplies will need to be ordered as they do not ship with the Gen3 Pod by default.
Why won’t my USB-C to HDMI adapter work with the Pod’s HDMI input?
The Gen3 Pod currently supports some but not all USB-C to HDMI adapters. Mersive will add support for additional adapters in an upcoming software release. In addition, the user device must support video output over USB-C and be using a USB-C to HDMI adapter for it to display HDMI video output over USB-C. Click here for a list of devices that support video output over USB-C.
Why is my screen share delayed when using HDMI input from my laptop?
If the HDMI input cable is unplugged from a laptop, and then reconnected to a laptop device before the Pod's welcome screen loads, you may experience a delay in the screen share or you may see a black screen. If you are seeing a black screen, you can unplug the HDMI cable from your laptop device then wait until the Pod's welcome screen is loaded before connecting it to another laptop device. This issue will be fully resolved in an upcoming software release.
Why can't I hear my laptop's audio when sharing content via HDMI in?
Wired content sharing via HDMI in does not currently stream audio to the display. Mersive will add this functionality in an upcoming software release.
Does digital signage work in dual display mode when the Pod is connected to two displays?
Digital signage does not work when the Pod is connected to two displays and is configured in Extend or Seamless Extend mode, which extends the Solstice screen across the two displays. However, digital signage does work when using a single display or when using two displays in Mirror mode.
When the Pod is connected to two displays, which display will the audio feed come out of?
By default, the Pod will route audio feed out of its outer HDMI port, therefore the audio feed will come out of the display that is connected to the Pod’s outer HDMI port.
I am only using a single display but there are two HDMI out ports. Which HDMI out port should I use?
Mersive recommends using the outer HDMI port if using a single display. This is because the outer HDMI port supports video feeds up to 4k, while the inner port only supports up to 1920x1080p.
Does the HDMI in port support HDCP?
No, the HDMI in port does not currently support HDCP. The HDMI in port is best used for a wired desktop screen share.
Can the Solstice Ink feature released in 4.0 be disabled?
